Barcode Number Labels

These labels use a series of vertical bars and spaces to representnumbers in a machine-readable format. They can be used to store and retrieveinformation about items, such as price, quantity, or origin. For example, barcode number labels can be used to label products, packages, or assets.

Some Features of Barcode number labels are:

•         Barcode labels are typicallydesigned with a plain white background or with a retro-reflective coating.Standard white barcode labels are great for shorter distance scanning andtypical use, while retro-reflective labels allow scanning from long distancesof up to 50 feet.
•         Labels can be attached tosurfaces with an adhesive or mechanical means such as bolts. Options foradhesive may vary based on the substrate material chosen. For high-securityapplications, there are unique options, such as destructible security labelsthat are virtually impossible to remove in one piece and tamper-evident barcodelabels, which leave evidence of tampering behind if the label is removed.
•          Some applications require rigidbarcode labels that can be affixed to a smooth and flat surface. Others may beinstalled on a surface with a contoured or irregular shape, requiring a labelthat can conform to some degree. It may be helpful to inquire about theflexibility of any label you’re considering based on the material and substratethickness.
•         Several printing technologiesexist for barcode labels, including inkjet, dot matrix, laser, and thermal. These will all have different levels of durability, cost, and shelf life. Labelsubstrates may have different printing methods that are most suitable in eachcase, as well.
